Important Notes Regarding Radio Use
At conventions, I do always have a radio with me. I may not be on a specific channel, however at most conventions I am monitoring a UHF frequency, as propigation in the UHF spectrum is better inside of a convention hall/large building better than a VHF frequency would. Outdoor-only conventions and conventions that have a small building but mainly take place outdoors, I'm most likely using a VHF frequency, as signal travels better over distances outside. For example, at WPAFW I may be using MURS Channel 5 and monitoring a 2 Meter Amateur frequency, meanwhile at Anthrocon (AC) and Midwest Furfest (MFF) I may be using FRS Channel 1 and monitoring a 70-centimeter Amateur frequency. If you see me traveling to a convention, I'll be monitoring CB Channel 19 and using CB Channel 31 as a talk channel away from the "trucker channel".

Convention Amateur Radio Repeaters and DF/Fox Hunts
At conventions, I can be found on the local convention amateur radio repeater, if one has been supplied by an amateur radio club. As well, I can be found at direction finding (DF)/fox hunt events/competitions and actively participating in them, should one be scheduled at the convention.
